YOUNG
BIO
Connor Young is a visual artist who channels queer spaces through horrifying subject matter and visceral color palettes. Inspired by the contrast between Young’s conservative upbringing and gay nightlife, he began making work centered around his community when he moved to Chicago to pursue his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His variety of collections includes painting, sculpture, photography, and filmmaking. The film works have premiered at festivals including the Wicked Queer Film Festival (Boston, MA) and the Muscatine Independent Film Festival (Muscatine, IA) where he received a Category Award at the age of fifteen. Young’s visual art has been exhibited in galleries across Chicago such as Filter Space, ARC Gallery, and the Bridgeport Art Center, as well as solo exhibitions at the Ankeny Art Center (Ankeny, IA) and WHIM at Stage 773 (Chicago, IL).
